MS Amma 100 and Forever Celebrations (in Greater Seattle - 2016)

Chronological Order of Events Culminating at MS Amma's Centenary Celebrations on Sept 16th. 

1. Practise sessions every Tuesday beginning from August 2nd. Song list chosen. (Link Here)

2. August 30th at Shiva Garu's house (Bothell) we all met for our recording session. 

3. The Agenda for recording on August 30th, included the following order of recitals

a) Chanting Aum Three Times (MS amma Style)
b) Chanting Aum Namah Pranavaarthaya (Slokha on Sri Dakshinamurthy)
c) Chanting Sthapakayacha Dharmasya slokham on Sri Ramakrishna Paramahansa 
d) Bhajagovindham (By Sri Shankara Bhagavathpada)  1st and 31st stanzas only. 
e) Bhajare Yadunaatham (By Sri Sadasiva Brahmendra)
f) Nenjikku Needhiyum - Tamil Song (by Sri Bharathiyaar)
g) Maraveney Ennalilumey - Tamil Song (by Sri Papanasan Sivan from Movie Meera)
h) Maithreem Bhajatha (by Sri Kanchi Mahaswami)
i) Annaiye aaramudhey - Hymn on MS Amma (by Shri S. Thiagarajan)

4. The Recordings were edited and video/slide show presentation was created after the event.  

5. On September 16th (Birth Centenary of MS Amma), we all met (Bothell) to cut the cake, view our video performances from Aug 30th, and enjoy some video clippings of MS Amma obtained from various sources online. We also had a sumptuous feast on that day - Both for stomach and for the soul !

On September 16th....

We all met at 6:45 PM and enjoyed not just the kids' & bhakta's performance from Aug 30th, but also revelled in the memory of the unparalleled contribution of MS Amma - both as a musical genius and also a golden hearted person. The gathering lasted till nearly mid-night !

After dinner (about 9:30PM) we performed the Cake Cutting. The Cake cutting was prefaced with a sloka, shown below.

The Video rendering as it occurred on the day is shown later in this blog/page.

Concluding Comments

Dear Fellow Bhaktas, 

I sincerely salute Divinity that inspired us all to get together and make the spiritual musical communion possible. 

This kind of spontaneous get-together on spiritual basis transcends all limitations and ensures our kids and future generations, continually experience the blessing of Isai Rishi Smt MS Amma. 

At the risk of embarrassing one and all, I would like to thank you all for making this possible. Spontaneous heart-felt gestures that each and everyone of you exhibited, is indeed God's grace manifested. 

To thank you is to thank God.
